South: Why women need to ‘Sit At The Table’

11/06/2018

As Sheryl Sandburg, COO of facebook says, if you as a woman want to stay in the workplace you need to come and ‘Sit At The Table’ in amongst the men, why? Well first of all, it’s unlikely that anyone is going to break down the door to offer you the next project, promotion, or role. We have to stop waiting and start asking for what we want. Sitting at the table means taking a step forward to get seen and get heard, rather than sitting on the side-lines expecting to get noticed.

It also means for the Women in Business Awards 2018 on the October 4, that you can join hundreds of other men and women at the table for dinner, and not just to celebrate the achievements of others with the Awards, but also to hear from one of the most prominent influential male promoters of gender equality, the COO of Sky UK & Ireland, Chris Stylianou. Chris is our guest speaker at the Awards and wants to address not just the women, but male leadership. If you want to understand why and how to bring more women into your business at the leadership level, then he will be talking to you about what they have done and are doing at Sky to tap into female talent and achieve gender parity.

Join us for the Women in Business networking and Awards event of the year, October 4 at Oakley Hall Hotel, near Basingstoke.
