Southampton: Quantuma strengthens team with business development director

11/04/2018

Corporate recovery and business advisory firm Quantuma has strengthened its national expansion with the arrival of Mike Scales as business development director. Scales will be based in Quantuma’s Southampton office but will have a remit to develop and deliver the company’s national growth plans.

Quantuma partner Mark Lucas said: “We are delighted to welcome Mike to our team at this exciting stage in our business growth plan. We are confident that his experience and thorough approach will add focus, depth and reach to the showcasing of our services across the UK.”

Scales joins from Minasca Consulting, a fee protection insurance specialist, where he was managing director for more than three years. Before that he was business development manager for nine years at Taxwise Services, another specialist in fee protection insurance and associated services.

He previously spent more than 20 years in South Africa, where he ran his own business and worked for various national insurance companies. This involved direct sales and consultancy in health, wealth and business insurance, banking and other client services.

Scales said: “I’ve been impressed by Quantuma’s spectacular growth in the past five years and am excited to join a company with such a clear vision for its future.

“Quantuma’s specialised advice is tailored to help our clients, legal and accounting advisers and stakeholders to devise and implement strategies to help our clients take advantage of opportunities and overcome a range of operational and financial challenges, enabling them to achieve their business objectives and ambitions.”

Quantuma recorded 21% growth in the financial year to March 31, 2017 and now employs over 110 staff.

Its growth continued last year with new office openings in Manchester, serving the north west, and Birmingham, serving the Midlands.

Quantuma also relocated to larger offices in London, Bristol and Southampton to accommodate growing teams, and also has offices in Marlow, Watford, Brighton, Ringwood and Weymouth.
