Commercial property consultancy Realest has appointed Adrian Whitfield to head up its south coast Industrial and Logistics team.

Whitfield, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the sector, joins Realest’s Southampton-based team after a successful 15 years at the south coast offices of Lambert Smith Hampton.

His experience covers schemes of all sizes from small and mid-sized developments to major projects such as Alpha Park and South Central in Southampton and Logistics City, Basingstoke.

In his new role, Whitfield will focus on building upon Realest’s activity in the industrial and warehousing sector along the M27/M3 corridor.

Realest founder Stuart Cook said: “We are excited to welcome Adrian to the team. He is well-known and well-connected and has a wealth of expertise in the industrial and logistics sector in the south. This key appointment will build on Realest’s strengths in this sector, alongside our specialisms in the wider commercial property market.”

Whitfield said: “After 15 enjoyable years in my previous role, working with fantastic colleagues and clients, I felt it was time for a fresh challenge and I am delighted to be joining the dynamic and forward-thinking team at Realest.

“The market in the region remains optimistic with many exciting developments on the horizon. I look forward to working with landlords, developers and occupiers to help them make the most of the opportunities available now and in years to come.”

Realest, established in 2013, expanded in 2015 with the arrival of shareholders David Ferriman, Robert Haynes and Steven Williams. The team specialises in commercial property agency, building consulting and professional services, for public and private sector clients.

Realest worked with Meggitt plc on its Manse Opus development at Prospero Ansty, near Coventry, which was named Deal of the Year over 250,000 sq ft in the 2019 Industrial Agents Society Awards.

The team’s client roster includes, among others, St Modwen, Columbia Threadneedle, ABP, Carnival, BMO, SSE and the University of Southampton.
