Recruitment company Sanderson says growth and staff numbers at its Southampton office have more than doubled since opening two years ago. The firm’s southern England office, which specialises in IT and business change recruitment, has just announced a 202% increase in turnover from its 2017 figure.

The Southampton branch has also seen staff numbers increase from three to seven in two years. The team is relocating to larger premises at Ocean Village to accommodate the growing number of employees.

The increase in turnover has contributed to the success of its parent company Resource Solutions Group (RSG), which has announced record growth of more than £130 million for 2017-18, taking the independent recruitment business to a turnover of £426m.

The increase is due to significant client wins and the development of its regional office network in the UK, which now boasts 11 offices including Southampton.

The year-on-year gains have also seen RSG leap 149 places in the recently-announced Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 League Table 2018 in three years to rank at number 33.

RSG moved from 182 in 2015 and in 2017 the company, which employs more than 270 people was placed at number 79.

Hannah Waddington, regional manager of Sanderson’s Southampton office, said: “We have just celebrated our second anniversary here in Southampton where, thanks to the booming jobs market, we have enjoyed high growth.

"We would like to thank the team for their ongoing hard work, and all our clients and candidates who have helped us grow to where we are today.”

Mike Beesley, CEO of RSG, said: “The position RSG finds itself in is a great credit to the incredible hard work and focus shown throughout the company at a time of significant growth both in terms of clients and geography.

“We have a recruitment history stretching back to 1975, and our rapid recent growth is built on deep foundations and knowledge of the markets in which we operate.

“Our experience and track record speaks for itself. However, we understand fully that companies should strive to evolve and adapt to new business conditions or practices as they unfold.

“RSG has achieved this on all counts and the financial growth associated with this is clear to see in our numbers.”

The company has also launched a major corporate social responsibility programme to give back to the community with The Prince’s Trust having been their chosen charity since 2017.

Jon Ball, managing director of RSG, said: “This is a remarkable achievement that is testimony to the teams on the ground ability to not only deliver high performance but also really build relationships and put people at the heart of everything we do.”
