Southampton: Sir Vince Cable to open new science park building at Nucleus Expo
As the VIP guest at Nucleus Expo 2016, the Rt Hon Sir Vince Cable will be opening the University of Southampton Science Park’s new building – the brand-new Grade A office accommodation at 5 Benham Campus, and delivering a keynote speech for the science and technology-focused event. Peter Birkett, CEO of the University Southampton Science Park and Nucleus Expo 2016 partner, commented: “Supporting the commercialisation of high-quality science and technology has always been of great importance here at the Science Park. The opening of the new building has allowed us a unique opportunity to combine this occasion with an event to showcase the best of innovation in the region. We are thrilled to be able to welcome The Rt Hon Sir Vince Cable to open our new building and inspire us with his keynote address.”
The former secretary of state for business, innovation and skills is a frequent speaker at business conferences with several (pro-bono) directorships.
Tickets for Nucleus Expo will include access to the opening ceremony at 10.30am on September 21, and registration is free. The full programme is online, with talks, workshops and breakout sessions with IBM, Hampshire Constabulary, Merck, Dstl, The Royal Navy and others.
