Following a £12 million investment and four years of refurbishment, the Swan Hotel in Streatley will be reopening in July and unveiling the latest Coppa Club.

Coppa Club is 'the club where no-one has to be a member'. Open all day, from early breakfast to late evening drink, Coppa is home-from-home for all its regulars. "Guests can eat, drink, socialise, work a bit, do what they want. Coppa provides different spaces for different moods and different occasions," said the hotel.

Right on the riverbank on a picturesque stretch of the Thames, Streatley’s Coppa Club is the sixth to launch in the country. It follows the waterside theme of its previous successful openings in Sonning, Henley-on-Thames, Maidenhead, St Paul’s and Tower Bridge, London.

The owners Hugh Osmond and Lucy Potter have lived in the area for many years and have been working closely with the village community on this flagship opening to ensure it is a welcome new amenity for local residents and visitors.

The hotel said: "Offering an all-day menu of uncomplicated, Anglo-Mediterranean dishes, from small plates and snacks to main courses and healthy salads, there will be something for everyone at any time of day. Club and hotel guests can eat or drink in the open air on the riverside terrace, a few feet from the water’s edge and, in winter or bad weather, can be quickly enclosed by an all-new glass structure without even leaving their seats."

Coppa Club CEO Sue Walter commented: “Streatley-on-Thames has some of the most outstanding areas of natural beauty that Berkshire has to offer and it’s a real privilege to be able to bring Coppa Club to this community and become a part of its rich history.”

Rare Bird Hotels CEO Lucy Potter added: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Coppa Club to provide an inviting open space which offers something for everyone from locals looking for a convivial workspace, to friends meeting for coffee, hotel guests and those enjoying a Thames walk.

“We are very grateful to the local community for bearing with us for what has been a prolonged building project and we hope they will be delighted with the end result.”

Restaurant entrepreneur and local resident, Hugh Osmond, is chairman of the Coppa Club, which was first launched at The Great House in Sonning in August 2015. Based on a modern-day private members club, Coppa Club was created to provide a home-away-from-home for local people.

The Swan at Streatley was acquired by Rare Bird Hotels in November 2012 and has undergone a significant renovation since then with the final development being the opening of the Coppa Club. The hotel has 47 bedrooms, a members gym and yoga studio and a river-facing events space for weddings and other functions.
