The Prince’s Trust announces partnership with Slough's IRIS Software Group
The Prince's Trust has announced a new collaboration with Berkshire's IRIS Software Group, one of the top business software businesses in the country.
This partnership with The Prince's Trust expands on IRIS' vast philanthropic and community activities and aimed at promoting employability for all. It also chimes with the trust's ongoing plan to help inspire and nurture the next generation of brilliant young people, particularly those who are disadvantaged in one respect or another.
The digital skills gap persists in the UK, with many young people lacking the education and training required to prosper in today's digital economy. Almost a quarter of young people who have dropped out of school think they require more technical skills.
Jonathan Townsend is the UK Chief Executive of The Prince’s Trust. He said this about the link-up: "We are very excited to be partnering with IRIS Software Group to help them continue their work to support young people and help them embrace any and every exciting career opportunity.”
Chief People Officer at IRIS Software Group Stephanie Kelly says this about the new partnership: “Young people are critical to the future of the UK tech industry. The more we can inspire those from underrepresented groups to develop careers in the technology industry and support schools to grow and nurture student potential, the better. We’re delighted to partner with The Prince’s Trust and look forward to working towards our shared goal of empowering young people and doing our part to bridge the digital skills gap.”
