Thames Valley-based Boyes Turner has announced a raft of promotions in key teams, underlining its growing strength as a full-service law firm.

Senior associate in dispute resolution Stephen Baker, and senior associate in employment Andrew Whiteaker have both been promoted to director.

Meanwhile, associate in medical negligence Julie Marsh, associate in corporate law Sophie Payne, associate in residential plot sales Stella Perry, and associate in the court of protection Alexander Wright have all been promoted to senior associate.

Stephen Baker joined the firm in 1996 as a trainee solicitor. He qualified in 1998 and became a senior associate in 2014. His practice includes corporate and shareholder disputes, commercial contracts, information technology, intellectual property, professional negligence, defamation, business protection injunctions and defendant product liability.

Andrew Whiteaker joined the employment group in 2008. He commenced his career in Henley-on-Thames in 1999 before joining IBB in Uxbridge where he completed his training contract and stayed there for four years post qualification. He was promoted to senior associate at Boyes Turner in 2014.

“The contribution of each of these lawyers has been outstanding in recent years. All have played a crucial role in delivering the exemplary service we strive for in servicing our clients. We are delighted to recognise that by promoting them into their new positions as directors and senior associates,” said Andrew Chalkley, CEO of Boyes Turner.

Boyes Turner’s Reading roots and ready access to the Silicon Corridor have seen it build a nationally and internationally recognised specialism in technology and related sectors. The firm now has 18 lawyers working primarily or exclusively on high tech, digital media and other innovation focused clients.

As a firm it is ranked as one of the UK’s leading technology law firms, with the commercial and technology partners also being recognised as experts in their field. Clients include leading online publishers, solutions suppliers, leading providers of IT outsourcing, training, recruitment and call centre solutions, major communications businesses and data providers.

• Boyes Turner is the sponsor of the drinks reception at the inaugural Thames Valley Tech Awards at the Madejski Stadium, Reading, on May 24.
