Thames Valley: GCS heads for the Big Apple
Reading-headquartered GCS Recruitment Specialists has announced further international growth with the opening of an office in New York. This will be the fourth GCS location alongside the existing offices in Reading, Dublin and London.
Scheduled to open in summer 2015, and led by long-standing principal consultant Thomas Lovell-Butt, the New York office will focus on technology and financial services.
"I am incredibly excited about this development," said GCS founder and chairman Chris Bartlett. "We are always looking at viable opportunities for new offices and with New York’s technology job growth exceeding Silicon Valley’s, now is the ideal time. It is an amazing opportunity for Thomas, and for GCS, and we are already working with a number of New York-based clients."
Lovell-Butt commented: "This is, without a doubt, the most exciting time of my career. We have worked hard to establish GCS as one of the leading recruitment businesses throughout the UK and Ireland and I am looking to replicate that success in New York. It is an honour to be leading the challenge of taking GCS' quality of service and values across the Atlantic."
GCS is no stranger to international expansion. Its Irish office opened less than two years ago and, having already doubled in size, was ranked 29th in the 2014 Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200.
Bartlett concluded: “With Thomas at the helm I have no doubt that our New York office will be every bit as successful as our other offices and I am as excited about this latest venture as I was when the business started 24 years ago.”
