Winchester: Savills brings former healthcare properties to market
Savills, on behalf on the Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, has brought to the market four terraced properties spanning 16,923 sq ft in Winchester.
The freehold of the buildings is for sale as a single lot or as three lots by informal tender. The properties, previously occupied for healthcare purposes, became surplus to requirements after the relocation of the Trust services to modern accommodation in Avalon House, Winchester.
Located on the south side of Romsey Road in Winchester and adjacent to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital the properties date back to the 1860s and are in the Winchester Suburb Conservation Area. The properties: 59, 61, 63A and 63B Romsey Road, are set over two to three floors, all with basements and are in a site area of 0.308 acres.
LOT 1: 63A & 63B These terrace properties are currently not interconnected. 63A has had a two-storey extension added on the rear. 63B has had a large single storey extension added.
LOT 2: 61 is a two-storey former town house with well proportioned rooms. Currently there is car parking area for 12 cars to the rear.
LOT 3: 59 is an end of terrace, former three-storey town house, which could convert back to residential use with loft conversion potential, subject to planning.
Tim Longhurst, director in the business space team at Savills, Southampton, commented: “All four of the former health properties have potential for conversion or redevelopment to residential, use subject to planning. We expect a high level of interest in the properties as a whole or individually due their location close to the city centre and their suitability for residential use.”
The closing date for offers is Friday March 24.
